The year is 1938 and the courageous and hardworking young woman Mary Hayes is trying to find a new career. She sets her sights on the male-dominated world of newspaper journalism. The editor-in-chief, pits her against his self-absorbed ace reporter, Jeff Kincaid. If Jeff writes a better story, he gets to keep his job. If Mary wins, she will replace the star newshound.

A nod to the zany screwball comedies of that time period, this play is full of snappy banter, goofy characters (all played by just four very funny actors) and silly humour that will have you falling out of your seat.
Fast talking, wise cracking hilarity that had them rolling in the aisles back in the day, is now given an update and made even funnier by the foremost of popular Canadian playwrights – the brilliant Norm Foster. Directed by Ellie King, The Royal Canadian Theatre Company is proud to bring you the Western Canadian Premiere of this affectionate and hilarious spoof featuring outrageous characters with the added spice of a mystery.
