Richmond Maritime Festival 2024

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 08/25/2024
The Richmond Maritime Festival returns for its 21st edition on Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, 2024. This free event brings the community together to enjoy nautical history and maritime-themed activities at the beautiful Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site in Steveston, BC. The free, family-friendly event celebrates the history of Steveston with maritime-themed programming that spans live music, art installations, and more. Children can learn to crochet sea creatures, make origami, and encounter sea-inspired puppets like Lulu the Mermaid and Rikki the Rat. Boat enthusiasts can get up close to the SS Master tugboat, MV Gikumi, and more beautifully restored wooden boats. Musicians like Norine Braun, The Seabillys, and more will keep spirits high across the 8-acre historic site, which will also feature more than 10 different food trucks. History buffs will want to explore the heritage buildings that once housed multicultural residents and fisheries workers.
