Rhino Awareness Weekend
We are hosting our first awareness weekend at the Zoo, May 2 & 3, for rhinos. We have partnered with the International Rhino Foundation to fundraise and raise awareness for the much-needed protection of rhinos in the wild.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Rhinos are under serious threat, with fewer than 28,000 remaining due to ongoing poaching and habitat loss. The International Rhino Foundation works globally to protect all five rhino species through anti-poaching efforts, habitat conservation, and long-term programs that support their survival for the future.
Throughout the weekend, you can take part in Rhino Animal Spotlights featuring Theo the White Rhino, a Bio Facts table hosted by our Education Team, trivia by donation, a silent auction, face painting for a $10 donation, and yard games while supporting rhino conservation in a fun and engaging way.
