Oval Community Day is back for its 3rd year! Presented by Go Auto, this annual event invites families from Richmond and across the Lower Mainland to get active, try something new, and enjoy a fun summer day together.
Last year, more than 7,500 guests joined us. This year, we’re bringing back the family favourites and adding even more ways for kids and adults to get active, try something new, and enjoy a summer day at the Oval.

What’s Included
All Oval Community Day event activities are free to enjoy. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Please note that regular paid drop-in activities inside the Oval, such as courts, climbing, fitness centre access, and other facility use, are not included as part of the free event.

Live Performances & Entertainment
Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, including music from Rock’N’Beau, gymnastics showcases from Aura Gymnastics, exciting performances and roaming acts from CircusWest, fencing demonstrations from Fencing BC, and interactive foosball showcases hosted by Foosball Canada.
Sport Experiences & Try-Its
Oval Community Day is all about helping families discover the fun of sport and active living.
Kids and families can try hands-on activities with local and national sport partners, including the Hockey Canada, Soccer challenges hosted by Fusion FC, beginner-friendly golf activities with First Tee BC, basketball activations, baseball challenges, foosball tables, and more.
No experience is needed — just come ready to play, learn, and have fun.
New for 2026: OvalFit Challenge Area
Adults, youth, and families can test their strength, speed, balance, coordination, and agility in the new OvalFit Challenge Area.
This fun challenge zone is designed for a range of ages and abilities, making it a great way to get moving, cheer each other on, and see how you stack up.
Family Fun All Day Long
From giant inflatables and interactive games to face painting, caricatures, photo opportunities, and a bungee activity area, there will be plenty for families to explore throughout the event site.
Families can also enjoy free entry to the Olympic museum, learn more about Richmond’s Olympic legacy, and take part in activities across the event for a chance to win prizes from community partners.
Hockey Canada Open Practice Session
Guests can step inside the Oval for public viewing of a Hockey Canada open training session in the rinks. Schedule details will be shared closer to the event.
Food & Refreshments
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the day, including BBQ favourites from Time Out, Tap & Snack and cool treats from Kona Ice.
Good to Know Before You Go
• Oval Community Day is a rain-or-shine event.
• Most activities take place outdoors.
• Please bring a water bottle. Refill stations will be available.
• Sunscreen, hats, and comfortable shoes are recommended.
• Paid parking is available, but the area is expected to be busy. Please plan ahead and consider transit, walking, cycling, or nearby overflow parking options.
