Heritage Week at Britannia Shipyards
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 02/25/2024
Discover history in your own backyard with a visit to the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site this Heritage Week 2024.
Heritage is the layering of stories that describe the uniqueness of a community’s past and present while informing the future. This year’s Heritage Week: Layer by Layer, invites you to dig deeper into your community’s past and explore the many layers and stories that your unique community holds. Take some time this week to learn something new about the many “layers” of the place you call home.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
From blog posts to images and videos on our social media channels, join us as we peel back the layers of how the boatbuilding and the fishing industry helped shape Steveston into the town it is today, rich with culture, community and spirit. For kids and young families, come visit the site Tuesdays to Sundays and pick up an activity booklet to become a “Jr. Boatbuilder” or try your hand at a fun scavenger hunt to explore the heritage buildings!
*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
