*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/20/2026
Bring the whole family for an unforgettable storytelling experience! Professional storyteller and author Kung Jaadee invites you to join a interactive storytime. Raised on Haida Gwaii, Kung Jaadee shares Haida and Squamish stories about kindness, respect, and the special connections we share.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Come Join us at The Roundhouse Community Centre on Saturday June 20 at 11am and listen to the engaging stories told by Kung Jaadee, a Haida storyteller who has been sharing legends for over 30 years! She is from the Haida Nation and also has Musqueam, Squamish, Tlingit, Tsleil-Waututh, and Hawaiian roots.

Kung Jaadee will share some of her favourite tales about Raven (Yaahl), the trickster and creator, like Raven Brings the Light and Raven’s Feast—which is also one of her most popular children’s books! You’ll also hear the Squamish story of The Two Sisters, the mountains we know today as The Lions.

With her drum, Kung Jaadee will sing traditional Haida songs and even teach you some words in Xaad Kil, the Haida language.

These fun and magical stories are filled with lessons about respect, responsibility, and how everything in the world is connected.
